Pat Walshe is a seasoned data protection professional with extensive experience in privacy and data protection roles across various organizations. Currently serving as Data Protection Officer at Brave Software since August 2020 and as Owner/Consultant of Privacy Matters Ltd since June 2015, Pat advocates for viewing privacy as a value rather than just compliance. Additional roles include serving on the Advisory Council for defenddigitalme since August 2019 and as a Data Protection Expert for the Council of Europe since January 2017, contributing to policy development in multiple jurisdictions. Previous positions include Director of Privacy at GSMA and Data Protection and Privacy Officer at Hutchison 3G Ireland and Vodafone Limited. Pat holds multiple certifications, including ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Certificates in Data Protection, alongside a BA(Hons) in Social Anthropology and Development Studies from the University of Sussex.
