Emma Goodings has extensive work experience in the planning and economic development field. Emma started their career at Cambridge City Council as a Transport Planning Officer, where they focused on analyzing local plan highway issues and promoting sustainable travel initiatives. Emma then joined Braintree District Council, where they held various roles including Planning Policy Officer, Planning Policy Manager, Head of Planning Policy and Economic Development, and most recently, Head of Planning and Economic Growth. Throughout their career, Emma has been responsible for delivering ambitious development plans, managing teams, and balancing conflicting priorities to achieve growth targets. Emma also has experience in consulting, having worked as a Consultant for the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority in 2021.
Emma Goodings completed their Masters in Geography with Education Studies at the University of Cambridge from 2000 to 2004. Emma then pursued an MA in Planning Policy and Practice, an RTPI accredited course, at London South Bank University in 2011.
