Christopher Michel, MD, LFAPA, has been a psychiatrist at Bay Psychiatric Associates since 1994, focusing on outpatient and office psychiatry, with specializations in adolescent and adult psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and consultation. Additionally, Christopher Michel has experience in inpatient and hospital consultation psychiatry at Sutter Health East Bay, specifically at Alta Bates Summit Hospitals. Between 1999 and 2019, Christopher Michel served on the Board of Directors for the UCSF School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and held the position of Clinical Professor in the same department as a volunteer faculty member. Prior to joining Bay Psychiatric Associates, Christopher Michel was the sole proprietor of Christopher S Michel, M.D., Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry from 1977 until August 2012. Christopher Michel completed an AB in Biology/Chemistry from Oberlin College, followed by an M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, an internal medicine internship, and a psychiatry residency at Herrick Hospital.
