Matt Watrous

Lead Director, Government Relations at Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Matt Watrous has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Matt started their career in 2002 as an Education Coordinator at the United Methodist Community House. In 2003, they joined the Detroit Historical Society as a Development Associate. In 2005, they worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, initially as an Executive Assistant, where they managed projects for the President's Office, and later as a Project Manager. In 2010, they became the Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington State, where they achieved significant milestones such as doubling annual revenue, launching new programs, and revamping major events. Currently, they serve as the Director of Government Relations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a role they have held since September 2017. Matt was promoted to Lead Director of Government Relations in October 2019.

Matt Watrous completed their Bachelor of Social Work degree at Calvin University from 1997 to 2001. Matt then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Social Work degree in Community Practice & Social Action from Wayne State University, where they studied from 2004 to 2005.
