Luis Ruiz's work experience begins with an internship as a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft in 2017. Luis then joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County in 2018 as a Youth Development Professional. Luis later held the positions of Assistant Director, Program Director, and is currently the Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County starting in 2020.

Luis Ruiz attended Bellevue College from 2016 to 2017. The degree program and field of study they pursued during this time are unspecified. In January 2017, Luis obtained a certification in "Querying with Transact-SQL" from edX.
