Jordan Colwell has a diverse work experience that spans across various roles and organizations. From 2022, they serve as the Chief Nursing Officer at Box Butte General Hospital, where they previously worked as the Interim Chief Nursing Officer. In 2020, they became a City Councilman/Vice Mayor for the City of Scottsbluff, Nebraska - Government. Before that, they were a Nursing Faculty at Western Nebraska Community College from 2019 to 2022.

Prior to their current roles, Jordan held positions at Regional West Health Services, where they were the Director of Clinical Services from 2015 to 2019 and the Family Medicine Nurse Manager from 2014 to 2015. They also served as the Survey Preparedness/Magnet Program Director from 2012 to 2014 and as an RN House Supervisor from 2012 to 2012.

In addition to their healthcare and government roles, Jordan has served as a Captain in the Nurse Corps of the US Air Force Reserve from 2010 to 2016. They were also an Adjunct Instructor at Western Nebraska Community College from 2010 to 2013.

Jordan began their career at Box Butte General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, CNA, and Phlebotomist from 2003 to 2012. They also had an internship experience with United States Senator Chuck Hagel from 2007 to 2009.

Jordan Colwell completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Sciences from Chadron State College in the years 2004 to 2008. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, Colwell attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Colwell then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at Walden University, which was completed from 2009 to 2012. Continuing their education, Colwell attended Walden University once again from 2014 to 2019 and obtained a Doctorate degree in Business Administration and Management. Most recently, from 2020 to 2023, Colwell pursued a Master of Science (MSN) degree in Nursing Education at Clarkson College.
