Rena Pacheco-Theard has held a variety of roles in the public and private sectors. In 2019, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of Boutiq. In 2018, they were the Manager of New Products Finance & Strategy at Indeed.com, where they worked with Product, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders to provide financial and strategic support. From 2014 to 2018, they were the Co-Founder and CEO of Prepify, a company that uses technology to help low-income and underrepresented high school students go to their best college possible. From 2012 to 2014, they held the roles of Senior Consultant and Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, where they were the team lead for a feasibility study to evaluate alternatives for replacing or enhancing a state child support bureau’s automated child support case management system. From 2008 to 2012, they were a Research Assistant in Global Policy at ONE, where they researched key human development issues and authored internal and external policy documents. In 2007, they were the Co-Founder and Academic Director of City Football Club, a non-profit that combines a free travel soccer program with academic mentorship and community building opportunities. Also in 2007, they were the Special Assistant to the Executive Office at the Center for Global Development, where they organized and provided research assistance for Girls Count: A Global Investment and Action Agenda.
Rena Pacheco-Theard obtained their Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University from 2003 to 2007, specializing in International Politics. Rena then attended The LBJ School of Public Affairs from 2010 to 2012, earning a Master of Public Affairs with a focus on Social and Economic Policy. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, from 2014 to 2016.
