Scott Rich has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Scott began their career in education, working as a Teacher and Dean at Classical Curriculum/Elementary Education from August 2001 to June 2016. In 2016, they transitioned to the technology sector, joining PDSVISION North America as a Senior Account Executive. Later, they were promoted to Director of Sales and Senior Account Executive in January 2021. Additionally, Scott has volunteered internationally, participating in house-building projects with Caritas International in Mexico from 1995 to 1996.

Scott Rich began their education at Modesto Junior College from 1995 to 1997, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Social Sciences. Scott then attended Franciscan University of Steubenville from 1998 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History. Following this, Scott pursued further education at Stanislaus State Extended Education from 2000 to 2002, where they completed a Master's Program in History/International Relations.
