Mikhail Solovev's work experience includes positions at various companies in the energy trading and analytics industry. Mikhail started working at Exeter Group as a Consultant in 1999 and stayed until 2002. From 2002 to 2007, they worked at Edison Mission as a Director, focusing on asset optimization and valuation. Mikhail then joined Citadel LLC in 2007, initially as an Analyst before becoming a Lead Analyst. During their time at Citadel, they had responsibilities such as fundamental modeling of natural gas markets, developing demand models, implementing real-time tools for translating numerical model forecasts, and evaluating US natural gas trade with Canada and Mexico. In 2018, Solovev joined Boston Energy Trading and Marketing, where they held roles such as Sr Director of Asset Valuation, Vice President of Analytics and Asset Valuation, and currently serves as the SVP of Energy Trading and Analytics.
Mikhail Solovev began their education in 1985 at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) where they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics. Mikhail successfully completed their studies in 1993. Following this, they continued their academic journey and enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1993. At MIT, Mikhail specialized in Physical Oceanography and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in this field in 1999.
