Kamal Carter

Senior Field Prototype Engineer at Boston Dynamics

Kamal Carter is a Senior Field Prototype Engineer at Boston Dynamics since August 2023, with prior experience as an Application Engineer at HEBI Robotics from June 2021 to August 2023, where custom robotics solutions were designed in Python and robotics demonstrations were led for conferences. Kamal also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robomechanics Lab from September 2019 to May 2021, advising under Professor Aaron Johnson, and worked as a Teaching Assistant for specialized courses in electromechanical systems and dynamic systems. Previous roles include an internship at Draper focusing on technical drawings and modeling, a Residential Assistant for the Summer Academy for Mathematics & Science at Carnegie Mellon, and an Assistant to the Associate Director of Education and Outreach at the University of Pennsylvania, promoting STEM education. Kamal holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Carnegie Mellon University.
