Cynthia M. Donovan has extensive work experience in various roles related to membership and development operations. Cynthia M. worked at the Boston Children's Museum from 1997 to the present, starting as a Membership Manager and progressing to Director of Membership and Director of Development Operations. Prior to this, they worked at the Share Group from 1991 to 1997, initially as a Marketing Coordinator and later as a Project Coordinator. From 1988 to 1991, they held the position of Campaign Secretary at Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Cynthia M.'searliest work experience was at Camp Nawaka, where they served as a C.i.T. & L.T. Director and Camp Counselor from 1983 to 1991.

Cynthia M. Donovan completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in Professional Writing, and a minor in Biology from Fitchburg State College (now Fitchburg State University) between 1984 and 1989. Cynthia M. also attended the University of Arizona as a visiting student in 1990.
