Mette Winkler has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Mette started their career in 2004 as a Piccoline at Købmandstandens Inkasso Service A/S. Mette then worked as a Translator at EF Education First from 2009 to 2010, followed by a role as a Researcher at DR - Danmarks Radio in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Project Coordinator - Partnerships at Educat. Mette joined Dagbladet Børsen in 2008 as a Supervisor at Greens Analyseinstitut before transitioning to the role of a Studentermedarbejder at DAT-Schaub A/S from 2006 to 2011. At Dagbladet Børsen, they held various roles including Journalistpraktikant from 2011 to 2012, Specialestuderende og studentermedhjælper from 2012 to 2013, and Journalist from 2013 to 2013. Mette then worked at Dagbladet Børsen as a Projektkoordinator from 2013 to 2014 and as a Journalist og projektleder from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, they joined Licitationen - Byggeriets Dagblad as a Journalist for a few months before transitioning to Børsen. At Børsen, they held the positions of a Journalist from 2015 to 2018, an Onlineredaktør from 2018 to 2021, and currently serves as the Head of editorial engagement from March 2021 to the present.

Mette Winkler's education history begins in 2006 when they attended Roskilde Universitetscenter. Mette pursued a Master's degree in International Development and Journalism from 2006 to 2013. In 2008, they also spent a semester at Universidad de Málaga, where they pursued a Bachelor degree in International Development and Journalism. Additionally, in the same year 2006, they attended EF Quito and completed a program in Spanish at a medium level.
