Tommaso Luciani is a Senior Engineer at Borealis since June 2019, specializing in catalyst benchmarking and plastic waste recycling. Previously, Tommaso held the position of Lead Engineer II, focusing on plastic waste recycling, R&D for carbon capture technologies, and optimization of hydrocarbon assets. Tommaso's experience includes work as a PDEng Trainee at SABIC, where design and techno-economic assessment for integrating steam cracker plants were conducted, and extensive projects at Technische Universiteit Delft, emphasizing process design and economic evaluations. Tommaso also designed innovative pectin purification processes at Cargill and conducted feasibility studies on municipal solid waste conversion at KT - Kinetics Technology. Tommaso holds a Professional Doctorate in Engineering from Delft University of Technology and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma.
