Geert Van Ballaer's work experience includes various roles in marketing and management. Geert started their career in 1991 as a Key Account Manager at Kaneka Belgium NV and worked there until 1997. Geert then moved to TI Automotive as a Purchasing Manager from 1997 to 2000. Following that, they joined Borealis in 2000, where they worked as a Technical Service and Market Development Engineer until 2005. Geert then became a Key Account Manager at Borealis from 2005 to 2008. In 2009, they joined Borouge as an Application Marketing Manager until 2012, when they became a B3 Market Development Manager. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as a Marketing Manager Film & Fibre at Borouge Pte Ltd. Geert returned to Borealis in 2015 and held various positions, including Marketing Leader Flexible Consumer Products from 2015 to 2017, Marketing and Value Chain Manager Consumer Products from 2017 to 2019, and Head of Marketing Consumer Products from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are working as the Strategic Platform Lead for Circular Economy Solutions at Borealis.
Geert Van Ballaer holds a Master's degree in Electromechanical engineering from HIK Geel, which they obtained from 1980 to 1984. Geert also pursued additional education at IMD in 2007, focusing on Marketing (Value Based Selling), and at INSEAD in 2011, specializing in Advanced Industrial Marketing Strategy. In 2017, Geert attended IMD again, this time for a program called Building Business Sustainability.
