Mahjabeen Syed is an experienced professional in library and information science, currently serving as a School Librarian at Chicago Public Schools since February 2020. Mahjabeen is also a Book Reviewer for Booklist Publications and a Freelance Writer, roles held since January 2019 and November 2014, respectively. Former blogging experience at ChicagoNow, coupled with a position as Managing Editor at Chicago Woman Magazine, highlights strong editorial skills. Additional experience includes work as a Young Adult Librarian at Skokie Public Library and various roles in retail and arts journalism. Mahjabeen holds a Master of Library & Information Science from Dominican University, a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia College Chicago, and an Associate of Arts from Wilbur Wright College.
