Angela Carstensen is a seasoned librarian and educator with extensive experience in young adult materials and library services. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Young Adult Materials at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, since June 2023, Carstensen also contributes as a Book Reviewer for Booklist Publications since February 2020. Previous roles include Director of Library and Information Services at Sacred Heart Greenwich from August 2016 to June 2022, and Chair of the Michael L. Printz Award Committee for The Young Adult Library Services Association from January 2017 to February 2018. Career highlights also encompass serving as Head Librarian at Convent of the Sacred Heart, 91st Street, from 2005 to August 2016, and as a Book Reviewer for Shelf Awareness and School Library Journal. Carstensen holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Music History from Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
