Jim Bartel possesses extensive experience in technology and engineering management, holding key roles at numerous organizations. Currently serving as an Advisory Council Member for U.C. Santa Cruz's Science Internship Program since December 2020, Bartel has been a Partner and Managing Director at Bonfire Labs since March 2010. In addition, Bartel has contributed significantly to Sea Crest School, holding the title of Trustee Emeritus while previously serving as vice-chair and chair of various committees, including the Technology Committee. Past roles include Director of Engineering at Radium, Manager of Photoscience at Pixar Animation Studios, VP of Technology at Western Images, Chief Engineer at Post Effects, and Technical Services Manager at Victor Duncan, Inc.
