Leticia Freitas, EIT, has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental engineering. Leticia started their career as an Environmental Engineering Trainee at Joinville Hydrographic Basin Department in 2016. Leticia then worked as a Work and Study Exchange participant at InterExchange from August 2017 to July 2019. Following this, they joined South Dakota State University, where they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2019 to December 2019, and as a Graduate Research Assistant focusing on Disinfection By-Products from January 2020 to December 2020.
In 2020, Leticia also gained practical experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Student Operator at Brookings Wastewater Treatment Plant. Leticia further expanded their expertise by joining the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality as an Environmental Engineer I from February 2021 to December 2021.
Currently, Leticia works as an Environmental Design Engineer at Bolton & Menk, Inc. starting from January 2022. Leticia'sdiverse background and experiences make their a valuable asset in the environmental engineering field.
Leticia Freitas, EIT, holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Engineering from South Dakota State University, which they obtained from 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering at Universidade da Região de Joinville, from 2012 to 2017. Leticia has also obtained a certification as an Environmental Engineer in Training from NCEES in August 2020.
