Karen Hanson currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Bolsover District Council, a position held since August 2021. Prior to this role, Karen was the Joint Strategic Director for Bolsover and North East Derbyshire District Councils from November 2017 to August 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as the Assistant Director of Community Safety and Environment at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council from March 2016 to November 2017, and holding various positions such as Head of Environmental Protection and Community Safety Manager at Doncaster Council between November 2004 and March 2016. Karen began a career in local government at Arun District Council, where multiple roles were undertaken from August 1988 to December 2002. Education was completed at Littlehampton Community School from 1981 to 1988.
