Matthew Simons, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of medical communications. Matthew is currently employed at BOLDSCIENCE as the Lead Medical Writer since 2022. Previously, they worked at PPM Advisory Group, a Red Nucleus Company, where they held various roles including Director of Scientific Services from March 2022 to July 2022, Associate Director of Scientific Services from January 2020 to March 2022, and Medical Writer from April 2019 to January 2020. In these roles, Matthew was responsible for creating and delivering professional medical communications content to clients in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting their needs in education, strategy, and competitive intelligence. Matthew has experience in creating deliverables for a diverse audience including clinical nurses, physicians, and marketing and medical affairs teams. Matthew earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 2013 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Rowan University, attending from 2010 to 2012. Matthew's education also includes an Associate of Science (AS) in Biology from Rowan College at Burlington County, completed from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, they hold an Associate of Arts (AA) in Fine/Studio Arts, General from Rowan College at Burlington County, which they earned from 2004 to 2006.
