Suzanne Popkin has been in the professional world since 2008, when they became the CEO of Boldium. That same year, they also founded BookBoing, an innovative curricular strategy called "story-based learning" that intrinsically motivates young kids to learn through stories. Suzanne created a web-based interactive publishing platform for the production of story-based learning experiences and wrote and published three interactive stories: The Birthday, The Noise and Appelicious. From 2001 to 2002, Popkin served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where they developed curriculum and taught writing and literature for over twenty courses in the Departments of Comparative Literature and English. Her most recent student course evaluation average was 6.9 out of 7. Suzanne also served as an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University during this time.
Suzanne Popkin obtained their B.A. in an Independent Concentration from Brown University. Suzanne then went on to obtain their M.A. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University in 1992. Suzanne then continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned their Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in 2000.
