Mousumi Chakraborty has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mousumi started their career as a Software Developer at UBEST in 1995 and worked there until 1998. Mousumi then joined Hughes Network Systems as a Senior Software Developer from 1998 to 1999. After that, they became a Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent in 1999 and stayed with the company until 2011. During this time, they held multiple positions, including a Software Developer role at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics from April 2011 onwards.

Mousumi Chakraborty completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Engineering between the years 2002 and 2004. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, attending from 1991 to 1995.

In addition to their formal education, Mousumi Chakraborty has pursued various certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. In February 2023, they completed the certification course "DATA SCIENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING: MAKING DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS" from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Earlier, in May 2022, they obtained the "AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty" certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Prior to that, in October 2020, they achieved the "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" certification, also from AWS. Furthermore, in June 2020, they completed the "Futures Thinking" course offered by Coursera, and in May 2020, they finished the "Deep Learning Specialization" program, also provided by Coursera.
