Yew Looi (YL) Liew is the President of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Incorporated, USA, and serves as Corporate Senior Vice President and Head of Region Emerging Markets since May 2013, overseeing a commercial workforce of approximately 7,000 across seven regional groupings in Greater China, South East Asia and South Korea, India and South Asia, the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Brazil, Mexico and Central America, and South America. Prior experience includes senior leadership roles at Nycomed, The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson where YL Liew was Executive Vice President and General Manager for China, DKSH as Executive Vice President of Healthcare Global, and Bristol-Myers Squibb where YL Liew held various titles including President and General Manager in multiple regions. YL Liew holds a B Pharm from Universiti Sains Malaysia, completed a General Management Program at INSEAD, and earned an MBA in General Management from the University of Hull.
