Ivan Blanarik has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Ivan began their career in Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, Germany in 1997, where they held various positions including Regional Business Manager and Head of the representation office in Kiev, Ukraine. Ivan joined Boehringer Ingelheim in Russia in 2009 as the Managing Director and later served as the Managing Director in Finland. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as the Corporate VP, Head of Therapeutic Area - Biosimilars. In 2017, they became the Corporate SVP, Head of Therapeutic area Respiratory, and then served as the Corporate SVP, Head of Therapeutic area CardioMetabolic & Respiratory from 2019 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Corporate SVP Head of Region Europe and Canada at Boehringer Ingelheim. Additionally, from 2011 to 2015, they were a Member of the Board at AIPM - Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.

Ivan Blanarik completed their education with an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy from Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave, from 1986 to 1991. Ivan later pursued an MBA in Business Administration from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, graduating between 2001 and 2003. Prior to that, they attended Gymnazium L. Saru from 1982 to 1986, but no specific degree or field of study was provided for this period.
