Youcef Kacer has extensive experience in machine learning and computer vision. Youcef is currently working as the Machine Learning Lead at Odigo. Prior to their current role, they worked at BNP Paribas Cardif as the Machine Learning & Computer Vision Lead, where they developed a cloud-hosted Rest API for document information extraction and led a team of data scientists. Before that, they worked at Smiths Detection as a Machine Learning & Computer Vision Engineer, where they focused on developing machine learning functions to classify, detect, and localize threats in X-ray images. Youcef also worked at Thales as a Machine Learning & Computer Vision Engineer, where they developed functions to analyze and control flow vehicles at frontiers. Their work involved techniques such as shape extraction using SIFT descriptors and color classification using PLSA data-mining algorithm. Prior to that, Youcef worked at Thales as a Signal Processing Engineer, specializing in ground pulse radar technology. Youcef also has experience as an Engineer Intern at Dassault Aviation and as a Waiter at Le Pain Quotidien UK.
Youcef Kacer has a strong education background in the field of mathematics and computer science. Youcef obtained a Scientific Baccalauréat with honors from Lycée Hélène Boucher in 2002. Youcef then went on to pursue Preparatory Classes at Lycée Fénelon from 2002 to 2005. Following that, they earned a Master's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Telecom Bretagne from 2005 to 2008. In order to further their knowledge in the field of data science and big data, they completed a certificate program at Télécom Paris from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, they also pursued an online certificate in Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration from OpenClassrooms in 2016.
