José María García-Ordoñez has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2015 with a summer internship at BNP Paribas in the Corporate and Investment Banking department. In the same year, they began working at Thesan Capital as a Private Equity Analyst. In 2017, they moved to Citi to work as an Investment Banking Analyst. In 2020, they began working at Bnext as a Chief Financial Officer, and also held the roles of Vice President and Associate for Strategy & Finance.

José María García-Ordoñez obtained a Double Degree in Law and Business Administration from CUNEF between 2011 and 2016. In 2021, they obtained a FinTech Premier Certification from Harvard Business School and a Digital Business Models Master from ThePowerMBA. José María is also a Member of Nova Talent.
