Ria Patel, CFA, CPA, CA, is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in audit and governance. Currently serving as a Senior Manager in Data & Analytics Governance at BMO Financial Group since June 2019, Ria has significantly impacted over 260 audit personnel by enhancing frameworks, policies, and procedures. Previous roles encompass Audit Manager positions at TD in the Fraud and Payments Centre of Excellence and Global AML, where Ria played a key role in strategic development and data-driven auditing. Additional experience includes operational auditing at SOCAN, and accounting roles at ONBusiness Chartered Professional Accountants Inc., MNP, and BDO. Educationally, Ria holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Waterloo. Ria is also a member of Bonfire, an initiative aimed at empowering women in the workplace.
