Damianos Vainas currently serves as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at Building Materials Europe, a position held since February 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing legal and compliance functions and steering the global insurance program. Prior to this, Damianos worked at CRH as Deputy General Counsel Corporate M&A Europe from June 2017 to January 2020, focusing on legal governance for mergers and acquisitions across Europe, and implementing a legal entity management scheme for over 900 entities. At Royal FrieslandCampina from June 2011 to 2017, Damianos supported the global procurement department as Manager Corporate Legal and directed legal M&A activities. Earlier experience includes serving as Senior Associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek from May 2004 to May 2011, assisting various corporations in M&A transactions and providing legal advice on competition law matters. Educational qualifications consist of a specialization in M&A from Grotius Academie, a Master's in Advanced International Studies from Diplomatische Akademie Wien, and Dutch as a Foreign Language studies at Maastricht University.
