Yung-Lin Chen has worked in various roles since 1991, starting as a Second Lieutenant in the Supply Division of the Taiwan Department of Defence. In 1997, they became a Chief Engineer at Edunomics, and in 2002 they began their career at Trend Micro, working as a SQA/SEPG Group Manager & Director, Taiwan Engineering Site Director, SQA Taiwan Senior Manager, and Senior Software Project Manager. In 2010, they moved to ASUS as a Senior Director of the Software Research & Development Center. In 2011, they co-founded Waveface Inc. (subsidiary of ASUS) and served as COO. In 2014, they joined SNSplus, Inc. as the Associate VP for Operation Management. In 2015, they returned to Trend Micro as a Project Director in the Dr. Mobile team. In 2016, they became a Senior Consultant (freelancer) at PwC Consulting - People & Organization. Finally, in 2019, they joined BlueX as a Senior Product & Project Manager.
Yung-Lin Chen's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from National Tsing Hua University from 1987-1991, a Master's degree in Computer Science from National Central University from 1994-1996, a Doctoral study (without degree) in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Chiao Tung University from 1996-1997, and a Master's degree in EMBA from Ivey Business School at Western University from 2008-2010. Additionally, Chen has obtained certifications from Coursera, the Software Engineering Institute, the Project Management Institute, and Microsoft.
