John Conran is an experienced engineer with a robust background in operations and automation within the steel industry. Currently serving as a Senior Operations Engineer and Senior Automation Engineer at BlueScope since 2003, John has led significant projects, including the modernization of the Plate Mill process control systems and the integration of various measurement and gauge systems. Prior to BlueScope, John held various roles at BHP Steel, contributing to process and quality improvements, managing technical upgrades, and supporting production systems. John holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Metallurgy from the University of Wollongong, highlighting a strong foundation in both technical and analytical disciplines.
