Marta Murcia has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Marta currently holds the position of Senior Director, Strategic Alliances at Blueprint Medicines, starting in July 2021. Prior to this, they served as Director, Strategic Alliances at the same company from July 2018 to June 2021. Before joining Blueprint Medicines, they worked as an Associate Director of Alliance Management at the company from August 2016 to June 2018.
Before joining Blueprint Medicines, Marta was an Academic Research Manager at Roche Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development from October 2014 to August 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Collaborative Program Manager at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT from January 2013 to October 2014.
Marta's earlier experiences include working as a Managing Editor at QuantiaMD from November 2011 to January 2013, and as a Senior Program Manager, Life Sciences at The New York Academy of Sciences from September 2008 to November 2011. Marta also served as an Instructor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine from September 2007 to August 2008.
Marta started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Weill Cornell Medical College from February 2004 to August 2007, and later as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (now Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) from September 2001 to January 2004. Marta began their professional journey as a Research Fellow at CEPA-SCHWARZ Pharma from February 2001 to August 2001.
Marta Murcia received a Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1996. Marta then pursued a PhD in Medicinal & Organic Chemistry at the same institution from 1996 to 2001. In 2017, Marta obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Alliance Management from the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP).
