Makenna spent the better part of a decade living in rural Mexico and emerged from that experience with a passion for development economics and social justice. She went back to school to get a degree in Economics and stumbled into data science, which soon became her focus and passion. She loves talking to computers through code and deriving insights which make people's lives better.

Prior to joining BlueLabs, she managed data for a local homeless shelter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
