Tony Jia is a specially appointed associate professor at the Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI) since January 2017, previously holding positions as assistant professor and research scientist. In addition, Tony serves as a research investigator and affiliated researcher at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science since May 2019. Tony's expertise includes RNA evolution, prebiotic chemistry, RNA-peptide interactions, and non-enzymatic RNA polymerization, with a significant academic background that includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University and a B.S. in Chemistry and Business from Caltech. Other notable roles include serving as a scientific consultant at the New York Institute of Technology, a teaching fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a vice president at Commons Technologies.
