Richard Barker is a skilled programmer and lead data scientist with extensive experience in plant science and data analysis. Currently serving as a Programmer at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science since May 2023, Richard develops code and processes data for the NASA GeneLab project. Concurrently, Richard holds the position of Lead Data Scientist at YuriGravity and co-founded the Collaborative Science Environment, aiming to democratize access to scientific research tools. With a long-standing role as a Research Scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Richard works on NASA-funded projects related to the Space Station Microbiome. Previous experience includes postdoctoral research on plant responses to microgravity and a PhD focusing on GA biosynthesis in Arabidopsis.
