Chris Zappala has extensive experience in the mobile wireless industry, particularly in RF engineering and product development. Chris is currently the Senior Director of Engineering at Blue Danube Systems, where they are responsible for the development of advanced 3D beamforming antenna solutions. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Business Development at BLINQ Networks, where they were involved in customer engagement, product positioning, and the development of new business opportunities for Non Line-of-Sight (NLOS) Wireless Backhaul Products. Before that, they worked as an Engineering Director at CommScope, where they managed a multi-site technical team and oversaw the design and development of various product categories, including integrated amplifier/transceivers and Remote Radio Heads. Chris also held engineering leadership positions at Andrew Corporation, Celiant Corporation (which was later acquired by Andrew Corporation), Lucent Technologies, Watkins-Johnson, Metratek, and Westinghouse Defense & Electronics, where they contributed to the design and development of RF electronics, power amplifiers, and radar systems. Overall, Chris has a strong technical background and has played a key role in the success of various companies in the wireless industry.
Chris Zappala earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College from 1983 to 1987. Later, from 1991 to 1996, Chris pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Microwaves & RF from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to college, Chris attended Indian Hills High School.
