Leslie Ziegler has worked in various roles across multiple industries. From 2004 to 2008, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, where they collaborated with a multi-institutional team in an effort to engineer immunity against HIV through funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Leslie was also an invited lecturer at the AICHE national meeting, Palm Springs Symposium on HIV/AIDS, and the 2nd and 3rd Annual Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Graduate Student Symposiums. Additionally, they were a Visiting Scholar at California Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2008.
From 2007 to 2019, Ziegler worked at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. in various roles, including Senior Manager of Process Design and Safety, Lead of Capital Projects, Senior Engineer of Capital Projects, Lead of Process Engineering, and Senior Engineer of Process Engineering. During this time, they were responsible for providing lead process engineering duties on a portfolio of 10+ active projects at a time. Leslie also worked on projects related to reducing energy consumption, environmental standards compliance, emissions, relief, increasing throughput and flexibility, reliability, safety, facilities contracts, process equipment design, centralized control systems design, and equipment replacement and maintenance.
From 2007 to 2008, they were a Technical Consultant at Venable LLP.
Currently, Ziegler is the Director of Process Engineering at Blue Current, Inc., a position they have held since 2022.
Leslie Ziegler obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University between 2000 and 2004. Leslie then went on to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Southern California, which they completed in 2008. Additionally, they have obtained an Engineer in Training certification.
