Josephine Pedersen is a mechanical engineer with experience in a variety of roles. Josephine began their career in 2008 as a Research Assistant at the School of Engineering at San Francisco State University, where they designed and implemented new methods for semiconducting nanomaterial synthesis, justified theoretical basis for experiments, and compiled comprehensive supporting literature. In 2012, they became a Graduate Student at the University of California at Davis, and also an Adjunct Lecturer at San Francisco State University, where they developed a new applications focused curriculum for junior mechanical engineering mechanical design and manufacturing laboratory course, integrated newly acquired rapid prototyping tools, and developed course materials focused on manufacturability and robust design. In 2014, they became a Senior Research and Development Engineer and Contract Mechanical Engineer at Other Machine Co., where they were responsible for mechanical design for precision interfaces, tribology, and initial and final mechanical QC/QA procedure development. In 2016, they became a Robotics Mechanical Engineer at Canvas. In 2017, they became a Consultant Mechanical Engineer while self-employed. In 2018, they became an Automation Engineer at EasyPost. Finally, in 2021, they became a Senior Manager of Mechanical Design and Integration and a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Blue Current, Inc.
Josephine Pedersen obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from San Francisco State University in 2011.
