Mick Dumke is an experienced investigative editor and reporter currently working at Block Club Chicago NFP since January 2023. Prior to this role, Mick served as a reporter for ProPublica from July 2017 to December 2022 and as a staff reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times from September 2015 to June 2017. Additional experience includes senior writer at the Chicago Reader from April 2011 to August 2015, and various teaching positions as an adjunct journalism professor at Columbia College Chicago and Northwestern University. Mick's early career includes roles as staff writer at the Chicago News Cooperative and associate editor/political writer at the Chicago Reader, along with freelance work for Wednesday Journal, Inc. Mick holds a Master of Divinity in Religion from McCormick Theological Seminary and a Bachelor's degree in Religion from Northwestern University.
