Matthew Powell serves as the Artistic Director at BalletNova Center for Dance since July 2019 and holds the position of Permanent Guest Teacher at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet since January 2015. With extensive experience in ballet education, Matthew Powell has also worked as a Photo Shoot Director and On Set Choreographer for Bloch since December 2011. Previous roles include Assistant Professor at Point Park University from August 2017 to June 2019, and Ballet Teacher at Broadway Dance Center until August 2018. Matthew Powell has been a Guest Teacher at The Juilliard School, and served as Guest Rehearsal Director for both The Royal New Zealand Ballet and Slovak National Theatre. In addition, Matthew Powell was a Consultant and Rehearsal Director for the limited series "Flesh And Bone." Matthew Powell's educational background includes training at The School of American Ballet and a Bachelor's degree in Dance with a focus in Marketing from Saint Mary's College of California.
