Daniele Guerzoni, PhD

Back End Developer at blinkoo

Daniele Guerzoni, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and software development. Daniele has worked as a Back End Developer at blinkoo since May 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Web Developer, building and improving complex web applications using React.js, Node/Express, and PHP/Laravel. Their freelance work involved creating a search engine application with user and admin dashboards for marketing campaigns, as well as a real-time data monitoring web application for connected devices.

From 2010 to 2017, Dr. Guerzoni worked as a PhD researcher at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on bioinformatics and molecular evolution research. Daniele contributed to a team led by Dr. Aoife McLysaght, where they conducted full-time research to identify and investigate new genes and their roles in primates and plants.

Before their PhD, Dr. Guerzoni completed an internship at the Computational Biology Lab at the University of Bologna. As a Bioinformatician under the supervision of Prof. Rita Casadio, they independently worked on a project to create an automated tool for comparative building of 3D models of protein structures.

Daniele Guerzoni, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Evolution from Trinity College Dublin, where they studied from 2010 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in 2010. In 2007, they received their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the same institution.
