Shawn Simpson is a highly accomplished data science professional with extensive experience in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Currently serving as Principal Data Scientist at BlackRock since July 2018, Shawn previously held the position of Senior Data Scientist at Tapad, where advanced data science techniques were employed to enhance platform capabilities and deliver customer value. As Head of Data Science at Dow Jones, Shawn led the development of machine-assisted research products and guided teams in statistical modeling. Earlier roles include Senior Data Scientist at The Wall Street Journal and Assistant Professor of Statistics at Columbia University, where significant research contributions were made in Bayesian methods. Shawn holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Columbia University and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
