Alshlon Banks has extensive work experience spanning over two decades, primarily in investigative and customer-facing roles. Alshlon began their career in 2000 at Connecticut Department of Children and Families as an investigator overseeing urgent child abuse cases. Alshlon joined Blacks in Cybersecurity in 2020 as a Location Ambassador for Connecticut, providing cybersecurity consulting, and educational resources to minority clients. Alshlon currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at BlackGirlsHack since September 2021, where they provide technical leadership and helps develop objectives and strategies for implementing innovative solutions. Additionally, Alshlon Banks is set to start working as a Cloud Architect Associate at Go Cloud Careers in December 2021.

Alshlon Banks, MIS has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University, which was awarded between 1994 and 1998. Later, between 2014 and 2016, they obtained a Master's degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix with a field of study in Information Technology. Additionally, they obtained a CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in August 2020.
