Dave Eisen has a strong work experience spanning across different roles and companies. Dave is currently working as the Director of Software Architecture at Blackboard, Inc. since July 2016. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at Sequoia Retail Systems starting from September 1989 and ending in June 2016. During their tenure, Dave held various roles ranging from hands-on engineering to senior management, eventually becoming the Chief Architect. Dave was responsible for engineering improvements in their hosted infrastructure as well as leading development efforts on the new Traverse product line. Dave also briefly worked as an Acting Assistant Professor at Stanford University from 1988 to 1989.

Dave Eisen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1978 to 1982. Dave then pursued further education at Princeton University, where they received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from 1982 to 1987.
