Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux is the global CEO at Bitstamp, a digital currency exchange. Jean-Baptiste has over ten years of experience in compliance and risk management in the financial industry.

Graftieaux started their career at PayPal in 2009 as the executive and EMEA chief compliance officer. In this role, they were responsible for leading and counseling the business to ensure compliance and growth in highly regulated jurisdictions. Jean-Baptiste also worked closely with legal and government relations teams to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations.

In 2014, Graftieaux left PayPal to join Bitstamp as the executive and chief compliance officer. Jean-Baptiste also participated in establishing the company’s European headquarters in Luxembourg.

In 2016, Graftieaux was promoted to global CEO at Bitstamp. In this role, they are responsible for the overall strategy and operation of the company.

Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux has an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Babson College, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration and Management from NEOMA Business School. Jean-Baptiste is also a Chartered Accountant.
