John Truelove has a strong background in engineering and cybersecurity. John started their career as a Software Engineer at Textron Systems, where they developed embedded C routines and a remote access data collection system. John then worked as a Graduate Student Analyst at CERT, analyzing NetFlow data for malicious activity. John later joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory as an Associate Staff member. In 2011, they joined BitSight and played a significant role in developing the company's Security Rating platform. Over the years, they have held various positions at BitSight, including Principal Engineer, Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, and most recently, VP of Engineering. John has contributed to the company's success by leading the development of their backend systems, driving the transition to a microservices architecture, and ensuring the continuous improvement of their software development processes.
John Truelove attended St. Paul's School from 1997 to 2000. John then went on to The Johns Hopkins University from 2000 to 2004 where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. After that, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2007 to 2009 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Information Security.
