Bristena Oprisanu is a Privacy Engineer at Bitfount. Bristena previously worked as a Research Assistant at The Alan Turing Institute from October 2018 to April 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Barclays from March 2016 to May 2016 as a Middle Office Analyst. From September 2014 to February 2016, they were a Specialist Case Manager - CPO Debt Finance at Barclays Corporate Banking. In this role, they assisted with the reduction in outstanding facility letters to be loaded within the internal systems, thus improving the back office systems. Bristena also drove the reduction of overdue Original documents and CD closing Bibles across the Team, allowing cases to be closed quicker. In addition, they supported with the loading of Security to the Banks security system, ensuring RWA’s are reduced. Bristena also interned at Barclays Corporate Banking as an MI Developer from June 2013 to August 2013. Prior to their work in the corporate world, Bristena was a Student Ambassador at University College London from September 2011 to May 2013. Bristena also worked as a Librarian at University College London from September 2010 to May 2011.

Bristena Oprisanu has a PhD in Genomic Privacy from UCL, an MSc in Information Security from University College London, and an MSci in Mathematics with Economics from University College London.

Their manager is Matthew Seigel, Head, Engineering. They are on a team with Oleksiy Chornobay - Front End Developer, Ali Amin-Nejad - ML Engineer, and Sara Jenkins - Software Engineer.
