Matthew Hii started their work experience in 2003 as a Business Development Executive at Profits Pte Ltd. In this role, they provided business and feasibility studies on potential business opportunities in China and Australia through franchising.
From 2007 to 2011, Matthew worked at Ernst & Young as a Tax Senior, where they collaborated with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore in tax assessments and desktop audits, managed income tax computations and returns, and supported tax managers in ad-hoc projects.
In 2012, Matthew joined SMRT Corporations Pte Ltd as a Tax Manager for a short period of time.
Also in 2012, they took on the role of Head of Tax (APAC) at Sabre Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. In this role, they developed tax guidelines and procedures, evaluated tax policies, conducted tax health checks, and provided tax-related advice. Matthew also accomplished several significant achievements, including implementing a new tax transactional model and successfully applying for tax incentives with the Singapore Economic Development Board.
In 2020, Matthew became the Head of Global Tax at BITDEER Group, where they currently hold their position.
Matthew Hii completed their Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended Temasek Junior College from 1995 to 1996, although the degree and field of study they pursued there are not provided.
