Ania Wilczynska

Director Computational Genomics Non-clinical at bit.bio

Ania Wilczynska has extensive work experience in the field of genomics and computational biology. Ania currently holds the position of Head of Computational Genomics Non-Clinical at bit.bio, starting in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist in Computational Biology at bit.bio from July 2020 to January 2022.

Ania has also served as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Glasgow from February 2019 to July 2020. Before that, they worked as an Associate Scientist at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute from July 2018 to July 2020.

From February 2011 to July 2018, Ania worked as a Senior Investigator Scientist at the MRC Toxicology Unit. Ania gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge from August 2007 to January 2011, focusing on mechanisms of gene expression control in early development and non-coding RNA.

Ania began their research career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from December 2005 to July 2007. Prior to that, they pursued a Ph.D. at CNRS from April 2002 to December 2005, specializing in the role of RNA and protein synthesis in cellular stress. Ania also completed a Ph.D. at the Warsaw Cancer Center from 2000 to 2005, with a focus on post-transcriptional control of RNA in cancer.

Ania Wilczynska has a Master's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Warsaw. Ania also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which they earned from the Medical University of Warsaw and CNRS, Villejuif, France. Ania completed their most recent education at the University of Glasgow, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Analytics.
