Melissa Tulig has a well-established career in informatics and biodiversity information management. Currently, they serve as the Director of Informatics at Bishop Museum since October 2020. Prior to this, they held various positions at The New York Botanical Garden, including Director of Biodiversity Information Management from April 2016 to August 2020, Associate Director of the Herbarium for Botanical Information Management from April 2008 to March 2016, and Bioinformatics Manager from September 2000 to April 2008. Before joining The New York Botanical Garden, Melissa worked as a Teaching Associate at Cal Poly Pomona from September 1998 to August 2000.
Melissa Tulig pursued their education in the field of Botany, first earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from the University of Maryland between 1995 and 1998. Melissa then went on to California State Polytechnic University-Pomona to complete a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Botany, which they received between 1998 and 2000.
