Katie De Hoedt is a Senior Process Engineer at Birck Engineering, where Katie has been employed since May 2023. Prior to this role, Katie served as a Process Engineer at ZAP Engineering & Construction Services, Inc. from January 2019 to April 2023. From July 2016 to January 2019, Katie worked at ioMosaic Corporation in various capacities, including Safety and Risk Management Consultant and Safety and Risk Management Analyst. Katie's academic experience includes serving as a researcher at The University of Iowa, where research focused on predicting the flash point of ternary mixtures of alcohols, and as Head Teaching Assistant for chemical process safety. Katie began their career with an internship at Cargill in the summer of 2008, where efforts concentrated on improving the efficiency of parts ordering and locating. Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa between 2012 and 2015.
